MAKE IT MONDAY

Matting With Glitter

Lizzie is up on MIM this week and shows us how to easily add glitter mats to our projects.  You can watch her video HERE.   This is the perfect challenge to begin creating holiday cards and projects if you are like me and haven't really started yet!

 Well, I made a card, but I cannot tell you how many things are wrong with this one! Several of which I will re-do/fix before sending this out...cause you know I can't just trash my cards :-{

To begin with, my Photo Editing program is not working~which is the reason for the terrible photo. Then there is the 'shadow' stamping on the sentiment; the watercoloring waving up the card stock; cutting the panel too much on one side... And, don't get me started on the glitter EVERYWHERE in my craft-room and on me!

How can you not be inspired to create when you take a  look at these beautiful artworks Nicole found for us.  You can choose the colors from some of the layouts, try a new technique for creating backgrounds.

I actually went on line to see this Artist's work because I was not  familiar with him.  I was more inspired by Nicole's photo to create a watercolor background for my Beautiful Butterflies and Swoosh Hello after checking him out. 😊

 MAKE IT MONDAY

Build-a-Wreath

Wow!  This will be the 300th Make It Monday video and challenge!   You can watch Melissa Phillips share her tips for how to create your own paper crafted wreaths in this video HERE.
Her beautiful style is demonstrated with three lovely cards.

My Card ended up with a few too many embellishments~I think I got carried away watching Melissa who is really a genius at this technique  (I clearly need more practice ;-)

The wreath (Kraft CS) was made with two different size circle dies, embossed with woodgrain and a few Sizzix Scribbles die cuts (Red CS).
The Banner die cut (Black CS) also by Sizzix is adhered to orange linen CS..
Sentiment, Leaves and Pumpkins stamps are from PTI Fall Elegance which I fussy cut out are popped up with thick double sided tapes.

Sentiment Windows

This week, Dawn McVey is up on MIM with a challenge to use a sentiment stamped on the inside of your card as part of the design on the card front, by utilizing a die cut window!
Love everything Dawn does~she is such a creative and talented lady!
You can go HERE to check out her AMAZING art work and video then link up your card.

I turned my Spring Woods stamp/die set into a "winter woods" scene for this Christmas card. 😉
The panel on top is embossed with a folder of snowflakes from Sissix.
Inside sentiment is Hero Arts

Creative With Stamps

The Design Team for
 "Creative With Stamps"
has created another card to share with you
Mid Month for our October Challenge~Shoes

Click on photo for more details

My card~
I stamped the shoes a few times, then colored them in all the colors I would buy :-) there is Wink of Stella brushed on the shoes to give them some razzle dazzle.
The sentiment is framed with a Spellbinder Nestabilities Frame that I embossed onto the panel of cardstock instead of die cutting it and the pretty paper behind the white panel is embossed with a sparkle design also.

You can check out the cards from my fabulous team mates and all of the entries from everyone so far  HERE.
You have until the end of October to enter our Challenge #19.
Hope you will join in, you can enter up to 3 cards and be eligible to win some great prizes from our Fabulous Sponsors.
Just be sure to read through the few "Rules/Guidelines" and have FUN!

Faux Epoxy Embellishments

Betsy Veldman is up on MIM this week with a tutorial for creating your own faux epoxy embellishments using die-cuts and clear embossing powder.  You can view her video HERE.

Sorry, I'm having computer issues and could not photo edit my picture.  The song birds are my faux epoxy embellishments and they are perched on tree limbs from a Darice Embossing folder not just floating in mid air as they appear to be.😕  The snow flakes are sparkly and really pretty IRL.
Oh, and another "problem" with this card, my Ranger embossing ink pad seems to have disintegrated, so those bumpy colored splotches were not intentional...
I'm going with~they are "textured" epoxy embellishments!

I am also entering this card in Darnell's NBUS challenge #12
HERE.
* I have never used these shoe stamps which came in a set of 360 Stamps from a company called "See D's" in 2005...YIKES!
This set covers just about every card-giving-occasion stamp imaginable. I'm not sure I have even used a fifth of these stamps yet(gasp)  Sooo, I am sure there is enough NBUS in just this set to join in Darnell's challenges for many more years to come 😏
They came with plastic CD-like cases and a holder to keep the cases with stamps in it, which I keep on my craft room desk~so you see, there really is no good excuse not to use these stamps.
* The flowers embossed on the side is an old  Cuttlebug border EF, also NBUS (or at least I don't remember using it in the last 5-6 years).
Thank you, again Darnell for the fun and kick in the pants to use my NBUS!

*If my card is a lucky winner, I would love a GC
or the PTI Holiday Greens stamp/die set
But, truth be told, any of the giveaways would be FABULOUS to win!
