MIM #97-2012

Make It Monday #97 - 2012 A la Carte

Card #3 - this one is following MIM #85- Glitter Tabs.  Dawn McVey's video shows us how to use part of a tab and glitter it up.  I have banner tabs, that I cut, added gold glitter and adhered to either side of my stamped image.  Found those already glittered Christmas trees half price at Michael's the other day and added too.

PTI products used:  Stamper's Select White cardstock and the stamped sprig is from Spiral Bouquet stamp set.

Card #4 - following MIM #89- Creating Windows for Floating Images. I need a thank you card for Christmas cookies and created the window with a baking sheet and gingerbread gal cookie peeking through.  The heart on the outside kinda looks like it is being held in the cookie's hand...use your imagination a bit on that :)

The heart is punched out of a scrap of PTI's Green Tea Leaves Paper Collection.  I made my own chipboard by gluing four punched hearts together ~ which was another MIM challenge (not sure what the # of that one is).

MIM #97

Make It Monday #97 - 2012 A la Carte Challenge

Card #2 is from MIM # 89 Creating Windows for floating images.
This card is for one of my January Birthday Babys ~ I need four cards for next month, so I better get busy, huh?

This photo shows the window and the flower print paper with the sentiment stamped on it peeking through the clear acetate. The butterfly was made three dimensional by punching 3 and glue dots hold it on top of the 'window'.

My Card details:
  • Cardstock is Stamper's Select White from PTI; patterned paper inside is from mail I received with address labels attached        to it :)
  • Sentiment stamp is from Garden Flowers by Inkadinkado
  • The embossed frame is from Cuttlebug
  • Spellbinder's Label Eight is the negative window
  • Monarch butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, pearls are from StudioG at Michael's
Thanks so much for stopping by!

MIM #95 & MFW

I'm entering this card in the two challenges that I love to participate in ~

1.  Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger-Shiimmer and Shine
The inspiration photo has a lot of sparkly, pearly glittery going on and I picked up on the pearlized look of the ornaments and the gleaming shine of the silver in the photo and interpreted with white glitter on my card

2.  Make it Monday #95 - Layered Glitter Shapes
I didn't really decorate my snowflake ornament like Heather did in the above linked video, but thought the button would add a touch of decor.
My Card ~

Cardstock:  Base card is from Recollections; Stampers Select White from PTI was used for the glittered banner on top; the feathery print is a notecard from Target and the sky blue panel is a paint chip from Lowe's
Tools & Embellishments:  Banner Borders by PTI; Corner Rounder by EKSuccess; Labels8 by Spellbinders; Button from my stash and Binder Ribbon from Martha Stewart

MIM #93

Not sure where this whole week went, but it's almost Monday morning again.  That ever happen to you?

It's late Sunday night and I'm posting a card to Make It Monday #93 ~ Splitting Die Cuts
I had hoped to get a couple of cards finished for this fun technique, you should check out Ashley's video ~ she is so detailed and creates the most beautiful cards.

Here is what I came up with:

  • The basecard is Stamper's Select White from PTI: the Black glitter paper is from Target; Blue polka dot is from Teaching Tree
  • Stamped Sentiment is from Spiral Bouquet by PTI
  • Dies used are Spellbinders - Labels Eight (cut in half) and the flower is Flower Silhouette from Die-namics
I die cut the flowers from book pages then embossed them with Ancient Gold powder from Ranger, I added a blob of yellow glitter from Stickles in the center of each flower

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I plan to check out everyone's entries tomorrow :)

It's Sunday night and here I am getting my card posted for two of my fave challenges:

Make It Monday - Faux Pockets
Dawn McVey is hosting this week ~ her card is amazing and she makes this technique look so simple

Moxie Fab World - Journaling Cards Challenge

Cath has five challenges from this new Paper Crafts Magazine Special Issue "Tips & Tricks". I haven't had time to check out all the great cards posted yet, but plan to soon.  There is one more day for these challenges, so I am going to give them all my best shot and you should too.

My Card ~ click on images for more details
  • Base card is Stamper's Select White from PTI; green polkadot is from American Crafts
  • Stamps: Bee trail and leaves (on pull out tag) are from Spiral Bouquet by PTI

I will have to try this technique again, my card seems to be all over the place and not at all what the original in my head looks like :-{
It really is a cool way to give a gift card or cash money inside the pocket. Of course, the recipient may not bother to open the card if the fun stuff is on the outside  :)

Thank you for stopping by tonight.

Here is the Christmas card I created with the colors from this beautiful photo. Of course the gray (which is so very close to the gray above) looks like Kraft in my photo due to the bad lighting in the house, I may have time to re-take this tomorrow morning in the daylight? Sorry :(

MFW - Tuesday Trigger

I wasn't too sure about these colors when I first saw the Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger-Val de Victorian, but it was obvious to me I had to use one of my house and tree stamps :o)

This is actually the second card I made for this Val de Victorian challenge. No, it's not a second card that I entered, it is the second of the same card. WHAT?  Well, the other night I was 99% finished with this card and as I taped the back of the house which was fussy cut out after I colored, glittered, penned and chalked it, I got a phone call and put it down on my craft desk.  Yep, you know what happened, I came back to the desk, started playing around with something else and LOST the house.
Now I am sure it is stuck to the back of 'something' which I may or may not ever find because I confess to being an over-taper and this puppy also had some dimensional double sided tabs on the back of it along with all the other regular sticky stuff.  The worst part is, I can't remember exactly what the first one looked like. Oh well, back the proverbial square-one :(

This is the Tuesday Trigger at MFW

My Card ~
Cardstock:  White is PTI; Lavendar and Pumpkin is from my stash
Stamps: Fall Elegance from PTI; House with Plant from Hero Arts; Trees from Inkadinkado
Inks: Sepia from Ranger; chaulks; TomBow markers
Tools & Embellishments: Branches with Leaves embossing folder from Sissix; Corner Rounder from EKSuccess; Glitter from Stickles Maple Leaf from the Dollar Store tied by brown Baker's Twine

As always, I appreciate you stopping by!

Here is one last card for Make It Monday-Stamping Alphabets with Die Cuts.

MIM #87

OK, I think I'm getting better at this?  At least my fingers are a little less inky :)
You can check out Heather Nichol's video to see how well her stamps came out.

I don't have soda pop bottles which may be larger than my water bottle caps, so I was inking my fingers each time I put these letters into the ink pad.   Ruined a few cards with ink smudges before I figured it out :(  I found the clearish color on the caps was a little easier to use than the dark colored caps cause you can see where you are stamping ~ not that I got the letters any straighter ~ you probably noticed on both cards, I had to twist 'em.

Inside sentiment: "Sending LOVE and prayers for a speedy recovery from your surgery"
I am mailing this card to my Aunt who just had hip replacement surgery...see the little envelop on top of the word LOVE, get it :o?

My Card ~
Cardstock:  Basecard is Lime Green from Recollections; the stamped on image is Stampers Select White from PTI;  the glittery patterned paper is from from DCWV-Citrus Stack
Stamps:  Fancy Flourishes from PTI; Patterned Bugs from Inkadinkado; LOVE are the foam alpha die cuts
Embellishments:  Sheer lime ribbon from Michaels; Crystal glitter on butterflies from stickles; envelope and butterfly  3-D sticker from Dollar Tree

MIM #87-Stamping Alphabets with die cuts

Well, I wasn't sure I would be able to join this week's Make It Monday cause I don't have PTI's  alphabet dies Heather Nichols is showing us how to use in a very versatile way HERE
But, being a challenge junky, I thought I could use another die set that I borrowed, mount a few letters on those bottle caps and give it a go
Here is the result, which I am already thinking...needs a little tweaking :o)

My card ~
Stamps: Fancy Flourishes by PTI; Butterfly is from Recollections:
L-O-V-E  are the foam alpha die cuts
Cardstock: Basecard is lime green from Recollections; glittery patterned paper  is from DCWV-Citrus Stack; polka dot is from ACMoore

Thank you for stopping by ~ I really LOVE having you visit :^)
